Gobano Robotics is thrilled to announce having successfully raised €3 million in a pre-seed funding round, marking a pivotal milestone on our journey to revolutionize industrial automation with AI-powered robotics.
The round was led by Axeleo Capital, Bpifrance’s Digital Venture fund, and Polytechnique Ventures, with support from Kima Ventures, Motier Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures, as well as strategic business angels and European micro VCs. This financing will accelerate the development of Gobano’s cutting-edge robotic AI pipeline and enable the large-scale deployment of intelligent robots capable of autonomously performing highly delicate industrial tasks.
A core mission: automating the most complex industrial and logistics tasks
As Europe accelerates its reindustrialization and operational efficiency pressures rise, an increasing number of manufacturers are turning to robotics to boost productivity while addressing growing supply chain constraints.
In response, Gobano Robotics is building a next-generation AI pipeline designed to control robotic arms in real production environments across processes requiring fine dexterity and real-time adaptation. The goal: transform even the most delicate manual tasks — folding irregular objects, sorting items of varying shapes and textures, assembling, screwing, and more — into efficient, automated processes at industrial scale.
Leveraging breakthrough advances in imitation learning, Gobano enables European manufacturers to increase throughput, reduce errors, and strengthen their competitiveness in increasingly demanding global markets.
Advancing the state of the art
On the technology side, the convergence of next-generation AI algorithms and increasingly affordable robotic hardware is reshaping the economics of manipulation robotics. For the first time, it is becoming economically viable to deploy robots in use cases previously inaccessible with traditional programming.
“What excites us is the simultaneous maturity of several key building blocks: large-scale imitation learning, reinforcement learning in production conditions, world models and other foundational models that allow robots to understand and anticipate their environment, and to generate robust manipulation trajectories under uncertainty and disruption. Together, these approaches make it possible to teach robots fine movements, generalize across variations, and deploy faster in the field” — Roch Molléro, CTO and co-founder, Gobano Robotics
Toward fast deployment
With this funding, Gobano Robotics plans to quickly develop new intelligent manipulation models and deploy them in real production lines with industrial partners. In parallel, the company will strengthen its technical team to continue pushing the boundaries of robotic AI.
“This fundraising allows Gobano to reach a new milestone: rapidly industrializing our technology to equip real production lines with robots capable of learning and adapting in real time.” — Ziad Khoury, CEO and co-founder, Gobano Robotics
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of what Physical AI can achieve.
